Home Connect

Setting up automatic cooker hood ventilation control based on air quality

User wants to maintain fresh and healthy indoor air while cooking and ensure that the cooker hood fan is not left ON unnecessary when cooking ends.

The user can set up Safera Sense to automatically control a Home Connect compatible cooker hood based on real-time air quality monitoring. By creating a Safera Cloud account and connecting the Safera Sense to her cloud account via Wi-Fi network, she can further connect Safera Sense to a cooker hood compatible with Home Connect. Via Home Connect, Safera Sense is able to control the fan of the cooker hood ON and OFF.

User can set up air quality alarm limits which trigger the fan control in the Safera mobile app. User can choose separate limits for fine particles (PM2.5), TVOC, sCO2, humidity and temperature. For example, the user can set an alarm for PM2.5 when it goes above 10 μg/m3 as recommended by World Health Organisation. When the limit is reached, Safera Sense will set the cooker hood fan ON. When the air quality improves and gets back to below the alarm limit, the fan is set to OFF again.
